FAQ's

Why buy Polyester?

Have you ever looked at the tag inside your swimsuit?  I bet it says "Do not bleach", or "Only non-chlorine bleach".  What chemical do they use to keep you pool clean?  Chlorine probably.  Chlorine eats up the spandex or Lycra in your beautiful new swimsuit.  Now, that is not a problem if you are only in the pool for a few minutes on vacation, or if you go lie out in the sun for a few hours a week.  You want to look great to visit with your neighbors, or enjoy yourself on a trip.  but, when you expose that suit to a hour of water aerobics 3 or more times a week, it is not going to last for more than a few months, tops.  You are basically washing the suit in chlorine bleach for 3 hours a week (or more).

Polyester does not break down in chlorine.

The more polyester in a suit, the longer the suit will last. 100% poly will last the longest. Line that polyester suit with a polyester lining, and it will last even longer (check out our Ocean brand suits).  The drawback of polyester is that it does not stretch well.  The Krinkle line of suits from Penbrooke Swimsuits gets around the lack of stretch by gathering the material slightly to give it quite a bit of stretch.  These suits are lined in a nylon/spandex fabric, which trims your tummy.  That lining will be the first thing that breaks down on your suit, but it will still far outlast most nylon/Lycra suits, and if it does break down, you can cut the lining out, and keep wearing the suit.  They are not see-thru.

You will find that polyester suits do not fade with age.

The chemicals in the water don't faze a 100% poly suit. You will be amazed at how new your suit looks, even after a year or more of wear.

What is your return policy?

Our goal is to find you a suit that you love.  So, if you don't like your suit, please return it within 30 days for a full refund or exchange.  After 30 days, we will exchange the suit for another one, or for credit toward another suit at a later date.

Suits can only be returned if they have not been worn in the water. If you have the tags, please return them, even if they are not attached to the suit.  Return them via USPS, UPS or FedEx.  We recommend USPS because it is cheapest and usually the fastest.  No need to call for permission, just make sure there is contact information so we can call or email you if we have any questions.

What are your shipping charges?

For regular orders, there is no shipping charge.  We do not pay for return postage if you do not like the suit, or it doesn't fit.  We do pay for shipping back to you.  Orders may come to you by UPS or USPS, we will make that decision with each order.
